About Free State Collective CBD Dispensary
Free State Collective CBD opened in August of 2018, with the goal of providing a wide range of the highest quality CBD products available, at reasonable, a prices. Whether you are new to the world of CBD, or you are someone who has been using it for years, we invite questions, encourage customers to do their own research, and recommend consulting with your doctor before adding CBD to your daily routine. Most importantly, when you leave our store, we want you to feel confident about your purchase, and positive about your overall experience.
At Free State Collective we believe in the power of choice, which is why we don't limit our customer's options to only our own brands/products. We truly embody the idea of a "collective", and love being able to carry other local products in our store, either by way of stocking their products on our shelves, or through collaborating and creating new products together. All products have gone through rigorous testing at labs in the states where they are produced. Feel free to ask us for a copy of a lab report on any product sold in our store. Lab sheets include important data such as potency, impurities, pesticides and residual solvents, or the lack thereof.
Free State Collective came to be by way of a life-changing event, which began a mother's search for alternative ways to help manage the chronic pain resulting from a Traumatic Brain Injury.
How Free State Collective Came to Be:
Owning a CBD store wasn’t Annie’s original plan. In the fall of 2015, Annie was working as a teacher, just as she had for the 16 years prior, and making a career change wasn’t anything she was even remotely considering. Unfortunately, early in November, her then 11 year old son, was involved in an accident, and in a matter of minutes, everything changed. He suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury that caused wide-spread damage, including a stroke in the center of his brain. As the months passed, and she began to understand the reality of how long his recovery was going to take, Annie realized that returning to work wasn’t going to be a possibility. So, she resigned from her position as a teacher to become her son’s full-time care giver.
For two years following her son’s accident, Annie dedicated her time and energy to help her son with his recovery. She spent many hours each day searching for different therapies and researching alternative ways to manage his chronic pain due to the extensive nerve damage caused by his stroke. As she searched, she began to see more and more articles and studies about hemp derived CBD tinctures, and the positive effects that some people experienced through it’s use, which for many, included decreases in anxiety and pain.
Seeing the positive effects that CBD products had for her son, and wanting to find a way to share their experience, or offer a place for others curious about the potential benefits of CBD to come and ask questions, Annie, along with her fiancee Sean, decided to open their own store in Kansas, focusing on quality and affordability.
If you are curious about the possible positive effects of high quality, hemp-derived CBD, please consider visiting Free State Collective in Lawrence, Kansas. We look forward to seeing you in our store!
